Johnson Goes Back-to-Back, Schimenti earns #2, and Lee wins after 4 year hiatus!

 

Rounds 5 and 6 of the Southern Formula Car Championships from Daytona International Speedway were definitely not races to be missed.   With a sunny and dry qualifying followed by a mixed condition Round 5 and monsoon conditions for Round 6.

 

 

Saturday Morning Qualifying was a beautiful session for racing – mid 70’s and sunshine.  In F2000, Skip Weld would come out with the Taylor Pole Award, while John Schimenti in the the #69 Swift would take home the honors in F1600.
